Job Description

The Maintenance Technician I performs basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, painting, and mechanical repairs.  Operates all resort systems and associated equipment.  Performs repairs on all types of equipment and facilities.  Responds to and corrects any guest complaints or trouble calls that may occur.  Completes all assigned work tasks and work orders issued by the Maintenance Lead Person(s).
  • Completes daily inspections of assigned areas.  Performs routine preventative maintenance, major repairs and overhaul of all resort systems and associated equipment, to include basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, painting, and mechanical repairs. 
  • Responds to and ensures guest complaints, trouble calls and work orders are completed in a timely and efficient manner. 
  • Responsible for filling out and turning in the daily assignment log.  Keeps a pen and pad handy while working to log assigned and unexpected tasks, equipment, and status of assignments to ensure accurate completion the Daily Assignment Log. 
  • Maintains monthly inventory and Order Request file.  Also responsible for receiving, stocking and dispersing supplies.  Must be familiar with associated vendors and able to identify replacement parts, materials, and necessary tools that need to be ordered for repairs or replacement. 
  • Performs pertinent testing on chemical, water, and electrical systems; prepares energy and maintenance reports.
  • Operates all resort systems, tools and associated equipment, and performs all tasks with safety as the number one goal.
  • Must be able to recognize possible safety hazards and report them to the Senior Chief of Facilities and/or Lead Maintenance Technicians.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Completes all required company trainings and compliance courses as assigned.
  • Adheres to company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
  • Technical/Trade school certification or equivalent experience in related field.
  • A minimum two (2) years of experience in the Maintenance field required.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities. 


  • Certificate or license in EPA/HVAC.
  • Refrigeration reclaiming certificate.
This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices.  Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.

  • Skilled in the use of hand, mechanical and electrical tools.
