Job Description

Oversees and manages assigned accounting area to ensure accurate and timely monthly financials, balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.  Works closely with other supervisors and managers in establishing and maintaining key financial and operational processes as well as internal controls.  This person will drive automation, process improvement and further develop the accounting team.
  • Manages the overall daily operations of the assigned accounting function and works closely with operations counterparts.
  • Ensures the accuracy and timely closing of financials.
  • Manages the overall daily operation including establishing, training and implementing accounting policies and procedures and internal controls.
  • Prepares and/or reviews and posts daily and/or monthly journal entries.
  • Reviews balance sheet account reconciliations in Blackline.
  • Provides monthly and quarterly analytical review of key performance indicators, budget vs actual, actual vs actual and trend analyses.
  • Ensures financial statements are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Oversees and prepares the annual budget and monthly rolling forecasts as assigned.
  • Assists in the audit process.
  • Compiles schedules and other disclosures as needed for the preparation of the 10-K and 10-Q filings.
  • Performs technical research and documentation in accordance with the Accounting Standards Codification and Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) Rules and guidelines.
  • Reviews financial statements for accuracy and assists operations to resolve questions and variances.
  • Maintains reporting changes as needed.
  • Performs accounting research as necessary.
  • Ensures Security and Exchange Commission (SOX) compliance in reporting areas.
  • Assists with the documentation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
  • Responsible for relationship building with business counterparts.
  • Encourages teamwork to solve problems.
  • Leads by example display appropriate self-assurance and enthusiasm while building high moral and spirit among staff.
  • Completes all required Company trainings and compliance courses as assigned.
  • Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field.
  • A minimum five (5) years of experience in the accounting and/or finance field required.
  • A minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience in the accounting and/or finance field required.


This position spends the majority of the time (50% or more) achieving organization objectives, often through the coordinate achievements of subordinate staff.  A portion of the time may be spent performing individual tasks related similar to those performed by direct reports, but primary duties are supervisory or organizational-goal related.  Analyzes and resolves problems, determines work techniques, monitors for regulatory compliance, maintains production, interprets and creates policies, and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge.
Establishes departmental goals and objectives, functions with independence, and makes decisions on matters of significant importance.  Manages human, financial, and/or physical resources; proactively assesses risk to establish systems and procedures to protect organizational assets.   Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action; develops systems to ensure subordinates adhere to policies and procedures in compliance with organizational goals and objectives.
Specific supervisory duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Determines and creates policies, procedures and manuals for direct reports.
  • Establishes objectives and goals for the team; plans, organizes and manages work flow.
  • Assigns, monitors, and reviews work; evaluates direct report’s performance.
  • Recruit, interview, train, discipline, and terminate direct reports. 
  • Orientate and train direct reports.
  • Approves time records and time off requests; submits payroll for direct reports.
  • Investigates and resolves concerns and complaints.
  • Provide assistance and support; maintains a positive and professional working environment.


  • This position does not require licenses or certifications.
This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices.  Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.

Specific skills and abilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • 10% travel required.

  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Hands to Fingers: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
  • Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Close Vision: Clear vision at 20 inches or less. Required to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading or visual inspections.
  • Distance Vision: Clear vision at 20 feet or more.  Required to perform an activity where the seeing job is arm’s reach or beyond.
  • Focus Ability: Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a minor amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
  • No exposure to adverse environmental conditions (typical office/administrative setting).
