Job Description

Under general supervision, the Linen Driver is responsible for the overall delivery and pick up of clean and soiled linens on and between properties in order to ensure an adequate supply of clean linens in a timely manner.

  • Deliver and distribute clean linen and towels to multiple properties while utilizing company vehicle.
  • Stock housekeeping storage rooms (located on property) with linen, towels, and other supplies as needed.
  • Promptly deliver roll-away beds or cribs, as requested.
  • Comply with all safety and security policies.
  • Retrieve dirty, unsorted linens from housekeeping rooms daily.
  • Pick up and dispose of trash.
  • Responds to requests from housekeeping offices and/or management.
  • Cleans and inspects linen vehicle daily.
  • Creates work orders when maintenance on delivery vehicle is needed.
  • Assists in the Laundry Department when request by management.
  • Completes all required Company trainings and compliance courses as assigned.
  • Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of experience required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities.
  • Driver’s License (non-commercial) – must be state-specific.
This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices.  Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.
Specific skills and abilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment (i.e. computer, copy machine, fax machine).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in time management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.
  • Recognizes an emergency situation and takes appropriate action.
  • Able to establish and maintain a cooperative working relation.
  • Able to use sound judgment; work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, with impending deadlines and/or established timeframes.
  • Performs well with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
