Job Description

The Senior Financial Systems Analyst is a vital member of the team responsible for supporting the Global Accounting and Finance teams’ use of Diamond Resorts financial accounting and reporting applications by providing senior level technical support on Hyperion Planning, HFM, Essbase, and FDMEE applications.

  • Works closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to understand and develop Company budget and forecasting process and the applications needed to support it. 
  • Determines required drivers and calculations, recommends and creates driver dimensions, develops and tests driver based calculations, creates needed applications, security groups, and filters.
  • Provides technical direction to the FPA team on creating planning forms.
  • Helps develop a common dimensionality structure that can support external financial reporting requirements and assists in modifying FDMEE data load rules to support this structure.
  • Determines impact of dimensionality changes across all Company Hyperion applications, modifies processes impacted by the dimensionality change, and ensures dimensionality remains consistent and in sync across all Hyperion applications.
  • Maintains Diamond Resorts Essbase reporting applications and develops FDMEE data load rules to keep data current among them.
  • Provides technical assistance in Company use of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) as it relates to consolidation calculations, top-side adjustments, and report development.
  • Provides technical assistance and training to junior team members; troubleshoots and resolves application issues raised by them, involving the team’s manager and IT resources if necessary.
  • Maintains and adheres to a change control process that ensures system stability and reliability.
  • Completes all required Company trainings and compliance courses as assigned.
  • Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field.
  • A minimum three (3) years of experience in the implementing, maintaining, and administering Hyperion applications required.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities.
  • This position does not require licenses or certifications.
This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices.  Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.
Specific skills and abilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Proven ability in building, deploying and supporting Hyperion Planning and Essbase applications for a large, multi-national company in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Working knowledge in maintaining Hyperion application dimensionality using EPMA.
  • Working knowledge in developing member based formulas and driver based calculations using Hyperion Calc Manager.
  • Familiar with Essbase best practices related to design and how dimensionality can impact application performance.
  • Proven skills in Lifecycle Management (LCM) to migrate changes across multiple system environments.
  • Working knowledge of a chart of account structure, currency translations, financial consolidations and high level accounting concepts; and how these impact the administration of Hyperion applications.
  • Proven skills in developing complex financial reporting using HFM, Essbase, SmartView and Financial Reporting Studio.
  • Must know how to build, troubleshoot, and load data using FDMEE.
  • Working knowledge with Oracle R12’s consolidation, accounting setups and FSG reporting.
  • Able to communicate effectively, work independently, manage various demands and tasks in an organized manner and show an aptitude for problem solving.     
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Understands how to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Ability to interpret and create policies, procedures and manuals.
